In a world of new paradigms, JA Cyprus has been bringing a new breath of life for the last ten years with a special focus on entrepreneurship and innovation. An important part of this effort is to promote a more entrepreneurial culture, starting with young people and school education.

Entrepreneurship is an important driver of innovation, competitiveness and growth. Entrepreneurial skills are essential for the self-employed, but are but also useful for employees in enterprises of all sizes.

The Student Enterprise programme through five key stages pushes students to understand and implement a business. From ideation, to planning, to forming and establishing the company, to action and finally to participating in the Trade Show of the year.

The Trade Fair is essentially the result of the hard work put in by students and their teachers over the last six months. Ideas that were initially a mere thought, come to life and their product or service takes shape. At the trade fair, students are given the opportunity to unfold their communication gifts as they are invited to attract visitors to the mall to visit their stands, present their innovative product or service in the best possible way with the ultimate goal of convincing the consumer to buy it.

This year the Trade Fair will see around 350 students aged 15-19 from 29 schools across the country with the support of 78 teachers. During the two days of the fair, the specialized jury will have a very important task to perform and will evaluate the business ideas of the students as well as the quality of the stand of each group. This evaluation will significantly determine the selection of the ten best companies that will have the opportunity to present their ideas at the Annual Business of the Year Competition on 28 April 2023. The ten finalist student companies will be announced on 27 March.
