Heart Restart Event

Citizens save lives. You can too...

Did you know that immediate initiation of CPR and use of an AED (automated external defibrillator) doubles and/or triples the chances of survival of a person who has a sudden cardiac arrest outside the hospital?

? Early initiation of Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) using a defibrillator increases the chance of survival by up to 90%. In cases where CPR or use of defibrillator is not performed after cardiac arrest, the probability of survival is reduced by 10% per minute.

In Cyprus there are around 700 cardiac arrests per year. Around 10-15 people per year survive. The reduction of deaths after cardiac arrest can be achieved by educating citizens in resuscitation.
