25 November 2021 “International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women»
On the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, the Safeguarding Sub-Directorate and the Sub-Directorate of Communications, Public Relations and Social Responsibility, of the Police Headquarters, are inviting you to an Awareness campaign, on 25 November 2021, from 16:00 to 19:00 at the Mall of Cyprus
By celebrating this International Day, the Police is aiming at raising awareness on the prevention and elimination of violence against women and girls (Gender Violence).
Gifts and awareness material will be provided by the Police to the public.
Did you know that:
• One third of women in the EU have been physically and/or sexually abused since the age of 15
• 35% of women in the EU have been bullied by a current or former partner
• About 50 women lose their lives each week due to domestic violence
• About 74% of Europeans believe that violence against women is common in their country (FRA Survey (2014)
