KOEF is a non-profit Organization with the mandate of implementing and supervising the National Medicines Verification System (NMVS) by protecting the legal supply chain from the possible penetration of falsified medicines. As of the 9th February 2019 all stakeholders involved in the legal supply chain (manufacturers, wholesalers, pharmacies) are obliged, according to European Legislation, to make use the NMVS ensuring that any falsified medicines are detected immediately, before ending up in the hands of unsuspicious citizens. Therefore, the sole aim of the KOEF and the NMVS is to effectively protect Public Health from falsified medicines.
