Learn to Save a Life – CPR & AED Awareness Event by the Ministry of Health, Resuscitation Services!

19 Oct, 2025
Join us at the Mall of Cyprus on October 19 for a hands-on CPR and defibrillator demonstration by the Ministry of Health – Resuscitation Services, and learn how to save a life.

Sudden Cardiac Arrest is one of the major problems affecting today’s society worldwide. It is considered the leading cause of death after the age of 40. In fact, it is estimated that 10% of Sudden Cardiac Arrest cases occur in individuals under the age of 40.

In Cyprus, it is estimated that around 700 lives are lost each year, and for this reason, it is a standing policy of the Ministry of Health to continuously strive to reduce the percentage of deaths caused by Sudden Cardiac Arrests.

Sudden Cardiac Arrest is defined as the sudden and unexpected loss of the heart’s pumping ability, resulting in the victim losing consciousness and showing no signs of breathing. Approximately 60% of Sudden Cardiac Arrest cases could survive if bystanders immediately begin CPR and use a defibrillator within the first 3–5 minutes.

Anyone can save a life — all it takes is proper training. Get trained today in CPR and defibrillator use so you can give someone a second chance at life. You can do it too!
